HGV Tutor

We’re supporting a national training provider that is looking for an experienced and confident HGV Tutor to deliver classroom‑based theory training for adults preparing for their Driver CPC and Category C licence. If you come from an HGV or logistics background and enjoy helping people change career, this role offers a meaningful way to share your knowledge and make a real impact.

The Role

You’ll deliver engaging theory sessions covering vehicle weight, legal requirements, load security, driver wellbeing, hazard perception and daily vehicle checks. Working closely with practical instructors, you’ll ensure learners are fully prepared for both the test and the job.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering theory modules for Driver CPC and Category C
• Preparing learners for theory and hazard perception tests
• Teaching legal requirements, EU driving hours, tachographs and safe driving practices
• Supporting learners with vehicle inspection, maintenance and load securing knowledge
• Monitoring progress through individual learning plans
• Maintaining accurate, compliant learner records
• Liaising with practical instructors and test centres to align training

What You’ll Bring

• Industry background in HGV or logistics
• Strong knowledge of Driver CPC syllabus and DVSA regulations
• Teaching qualification (Level 3 or above)
• Clear communication style and ability to adapt to different learner needs
• Understanding of safeguarding, GDPR and health & safety

Desirable

• JAUPT‑approved CPC trainer status
• LGV/HGV driving instructor qualification
• IAG Level 2
• Experience delivering Skills Bootcamps
