Temporary Bookkeeper

We’re currently recruiting for a part-time Bookkeeper to join a busy and friendly team on a temporary basis, with the role expected to run until around Christmas. Ideally, you’ll have experience working within an accountancy practice and be confident handling bookkeeping duties with accuracy and efficiency.

The position offers 22.5 hours per week, preferably worked across Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, making it a great fit for someone looking for a flexible schedule in the lead-up to the festive period.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate records of the sales and purchase ledger, ensuring all transactions are correctly logged and up to date
• Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy
• Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC deadlines and regulations
• Process and prepare wage journals, supporting payroll accuracy and reporting
• Assist with general bookkeeping tasks and provide support to the wider finance team as needed

Requirements:

• Practice experience would be an advantage
• AAT/ACCA qualification
