A successful manufacturing business in Scunthorpe is looking for a confident HR Generalist/Advisor to join their Team on an interim basis. This role provides full HR cover during a transition period, with the potential to become permanent for the right person.
This is a standalone, hands‑on HR role where you’ll manage the full employee lifecycle, support senior leaders, and keep day‑to‑day HR operations running smoothly. You’ll be joining a genuinely lovely organisation with supportive managers, great employees and a positive, people‑focused culture.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of the HR function, delivering a proactive, commercially‑focused service across the business. Responsibilities include:
Acting as the main HR advisor for managers and senior stakeholders
Managing all ER matters including absence, performance, disciplinary and grievance
Overseeing recruitment, onboarding and HR administration
Maintaining HRIS records, reporting and compliance
Coordinating training and supporting managers with people development
Ensuring policies, processes and documentation remain compliant and up to date
Providing accurate payroll information and supporting monthly changes
Working closely with the CFO and external HR consultant when required
What We’re Looking For
CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience)
Strong HR generalist background with confidence covering a standalone function
Comfortable advising senior leaders and managing ER cases independently
Manufacturing experience desirable
Organised, proactive and able to juggle competing priorities
Approachable, trustworthy and able to build quick credibility
Someone who enjoys being hands‑on and solutions‑focused
