Remote / Field Based | UK & International Travel | Grimsby HQ
Salary: £40,000 – £60,000 plus uncapped commission
We’re looking for an ambitious Business Development Manager to join a growing engineering-focused business with an excellent reputation in its sector. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys the challenge of identifying opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and helping customers find innovative solutions that deliver real value.
Working remotely and in the field across the UK, you’ll have the freedom to manage your own territory while being supported by an experienced and collaborative team based in Grimsby. The role also offers the opportunity for occasional international travel, giving you exposure to customers and markets beyond the UK.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and secure new business opportunities across a range of industries and sectors
Develop and implement strategies to expand market presence and increase revenue
Manage the full sales process from initial enquiry through to contract negotiation and project completion
Build strong, long-term relationships with customers, partners and key stakeholders
Attend customer meetings and industry events throughout the UK and internationally
Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities
Work closely with internal teams to ensure customer requirements are delivered effectively
Act as the primary point of contact for customers throughout their journey
Support ongoing account growth through repeat business and cross-selling opportunities
Collaborate with service and aftermarket teams to maximise customer satisfaction
Assist with contract renewals, service agreements and business development initiatives
Provide technical guidance and support where required
About You
Previous experience in a Business Development Manager, Sales Manager or similar role
A strong technical or engineering understanding, with the ability to translate customer requirements into practical solutions
Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills
The ability to work independently while managing multiple opportunities
A proactive, self-motivated approach with a genuine passion for sales
A full UK driving licence
Flexibility to travel across the UK and internationally when required
