Audit Manager / Audit Associate NEW

We’re working with a well-established accountancy practice seeking an Audit Manager / Audit Associate to join their growing audit team. This role is ideal for someone ready to take the next step in their career, offering responsibility, progression and the chance to lead audit engagements while supporting the development of junior team members.

If you have experience signing off ATOL reports, that’s a bonus, but full training can be provided.

The Role

You will oversee and manage the workload of senior audit accountants while providing day-to-day support and guidance to one trainee. You’ll take ownership of planning, leading and delivering statutory audits in line with GAAP, FRS 102 and ISA (UK) standards, ensuring high-quality work and strong client relationships. This is a hands-on, client-facing role where you’ll act as a key point of contact, support partners with strategic initiatives and contribute to the firm’s wider business development activity.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution and completion of statutory audits
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, FRS 102 and ISA (UK)
• Manage audit teams and oversee the workload of senior auditors
• Review audit working papers, files and supporting documentation
• Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules
• Ensure audit documentation is accurate, complete and compliant

• Act as the primary point of contact throughout the audit process
• Build strong, professional relationships with clients
• Communicate audit findings clearly and confidently

• Provide guidance and support to one trainee accountant
• Encourage best practice and support continuous learning within the team
• Support partners with strategic initiatives and firm-wide projects
• Contribute to business development activities, including proposals and client meetings
• Identify opportunities to add value and improve audit processes

About You

• Experience leading or supervising audits
• Strong technical knowledge of GAAP, FRS 102 and ISA (UK)
• Confident reviewing financial statements and audit files
• Able to manage multiple deadlines and oversee team workloads
• Strong communicator with excellent client-facing skills
