Bookkeeper (Agriculture)

We’re currently recruiting for a skilled Bookkeeper with experience in the agriculture sector to join a well-established accountancy practice. Ideally, you’ll have worked in practice, but that’s not essential.

Bookkeeper Responsibilities:

• Sales, purchase, and nominal ledger maintenance/processing
• Bank reconciliations
• VAT return preparation
• Preparation of unincorporated business accounts for both management and year-end purposes
• Dealing with client queries, the role has the potential for on-site support visits to client premises
• Process clients’ financial data into accounting software in a timely and accurate manner
• Preparation of CIS returns
• Advising clients on the use of accounting software
• Preparing reports for clients
• All other duties as required

The Perfect Bookkeeper will be:

• Have solid bookkeeping knowledge and a good understanding of the needs of agricultural clients

• AAT qualified or qualified by experience
• Customer service experience with the ability to develop strong working relationships with clients and colleagues
• Organised, friendly, reliable, have great communication skills and a willingness to learn are essential
• Familiarity with cloud accounting software and Microsoft Office 365
