Mechanical or Electrical Instructor

Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer looking for a new challenge, one where you can pass on your skills to the next generation? This is a fantastic opportunity to step away from industry and move into a rewarding training role with a well‑established engineering training provider.

This role would suit someone with solid hands‑on engineering experience who enjoys developing others, explaining technical concepts and seeing learners progress. Full training and support will be provided for anyone moving into teaching for the first time.

What you’ll be doing

• Delivering high‑quality mechanical training to apprentices and adult learners
• Supporting learners through practical and classroom‑based sessions
• Using your industry knowledge to guide, mentor and develop future engineers
• Ensuring training is delivered safely and in line with industry standards

Experience required

• Mechanical planned and reactive maintenance
• Lathe and milling machine operation
• Safe use of hand tools
• Hydraulics or pneumatics
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety practices
• Experience within the chemical process industry or CAD knowledge would be an advantage but is not essential

What you’ll need

• A minimum Level 3 Engineering qualification
• Good interpersonal and IT skills
• Full UK driving licence
• A genuine passion for developing others
• Teaching or assessing qualifications are desirable, but not essential, as full support will be provided to gain these
