We are recruiting for a highly skilled and self-motivated Freight Forwarder with a strong focus on sales, lead generation, and achieving P&L targets for our client in Hull.
Purpose of the Freight Forwarder role:
You will be instrumental in driving growth and profitability. Your main focus will be identifying and developing new business opportunities.
Duties for the Freight Forwarder role:
Dealing with shipments from booking to final delivery
Independently generate new business leads and convert them into profitable sales by engaging with potential clients through various channels, including phone, email, and face-to-face meetings
Understand clients logistics needs and offer tailored solutions
Quoting for shipments and negotiating rates where required
Collaborate with the operations team to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction
Provide input into the development of sales strategies, and work closely with other departments to ensure alignment with the company’s long-term growth objectives
Tracking shipments
Booking shipments with suppliers/carriers
Record and process statistical data
The Freight Forwarder will be:
Extensive knowledge of the UK & EU transport and logistics market, with an in-depth understanding of industry trends and regulations
Experience in working towards KPIs and P&L targets, with a results-driven mindset
Strong network within the logistics sector and a proven ability to open new accounts
Have in-depth market knowledge and a proven track record of independently generating and closing leads
Experience in establishing and nurturing valuable customer relationships, driving long-term business growth
Proven track record in lead generation
Have good knowledge of logistics operations
